Abstract

SUMMARY:A study of the trace element requirements of a strain of was made. Iron, zinc and manganese were required for optimum growth of the organism on glucose, sucrose, glycerol, gluconate and phenylacetate. Deficiency of manganese caused marked morphological changes in the organism during growth on all the substrates.
