Abstract

It has been reported that transposition of Tn is temperature-sensitive. The effect of temperature on the transposition of other class II bacterial transposable elements is reported here: Tn, Tn, Tn, Tn and Tn all also display temperature-sensitivity of transposition. The temperature at which the highest transposition frequency was observed varied between room temperature and 30°C.
