Abstract

Outer membrane fractions of 7784 strains SC-c and N-b, isolated by extraction with lithium acetate, were analysed by SDS-PAGE. Three main proteins were found, of which one, with an apparent molecular weight of 19500, was undetectable in membranes isolated by lysis of lysozyme/EDTA spheroplasts. All three major proteins were heat modifiable.
