Abstract

Summary

The structural proteins of the two serotypes of potato yellow dwarf virus, SYDV and CYDV, were isolated after labelling with either dansyl chloride or I. Five different structural proteins were detected for each virus by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The molecular weights of the G, M and M proteins differed between SYDV and CYDV. Four structural proteins. G, N, M and M, of thetwo viruses were also compared by peptide mapping after partial proteolysis. The order of similarity between the homologous proteins of each strain was M (least similar) < G < N < M.
