RT Journal Article SR Electronic(1) A1 Haavik, H. I.YR 1974 T1 Studies on the Formation of Bacitracin by Bacillus licheniformis: Role of Catabolite Repression and Organic Acids JF Microbiology, VO 84 IS 2 SP 321 OP 326 DO https://doi.org/10.1099/00221287-84-2-321 PB Microbiology Society, SN 1465-2080, AB Summary: Bacitracin production by Bacillus licheniformis atcc10716 is markedly inhibited by glucose. This inhibitory effect is due to the lowered pH and undissociated organic acids produced by the metabolism of glucose. The possibility that catabolite repression is an incidental result of low pH and the production of organic acids from glucose during growth is discussed., UL https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/micro/10.1099/00221287-84-2-321
