Germination can be induced by heat and certain chemicals. Heating spores to 45 °C for 4 h results in 23% germination and treatment with a variety of chemicals yields about 3%. Germination in spores which are first heated and subsequently treated with chemicals is either similar to that in heated spores (23%) or slightly higher (33%), while spores which are heated in the presence of chemical show germination percentages up to 88%.", }
