The agar substrate is in the form of small plaques pipetted so that each plaque is distinct and separate from its neighbour in the Petri dish. The method is used for the assay of antifungal materials and has been adapted to the isolation and biochemical characterization of micro-organisms. Work is in progress to adapt the procedure to yeast and bacterial counts., UL https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/micro/10.1099/00221287-7-1-2-31
