SUMMARY: Fucosamine has been identified as a component of the walls of Pseudomonas denitrificans and P. fragi, and quinovosamine as a component of the walls of P. fluorescens, P. mucidolens, P. putida, P. stutzeri, P. syncyanea and P. synxantha. A third amino sugar, present in the walls of P. synxantha and possibly in those of P. fluorescens, was apparently 3-amino-3,6-dideoxyglucose.
