Abstract

SUMMARY: Equations are developed in which the inhibition of cell growth by different levels of a given chemical or environmental agent is expressed by a single straight line. The formulation provides a simple, economic, and consistent way of characterizing different growth inhibitors and evaluating their possible mechanisms of action, e.g. structure-activity relationships.
