Abstract

Summary: Changes in the metabolism of the chick embryo host cell produced by -aminobenzoic acid or sodium cyanide did not influence the multiplication of psittacosis or Newcastle virus. A suspension of psittacosis virus was unable to catalyse oxygen uptake in presence of glutamic acid, casein hydrolysate, succinic or pyruvic acids.
