Abstract

SUMMARY: An inducible sucrose hydrolysing enzyme has been found in . The enzyme is intracellular, unstable in the absence of EDTA and its formation is repressed by glucose. These properties contrast with those of the levan-sucrase enzyme previously investigated in this organism.
