Abstract

SUMMARY: The metabolic pathways used by members of the genus for the oxidation of benzoate and -hydroxy-benzoate have been investigated. and oxidize benzoate catechol, which is further metabolized by cleavage. The same species oxidize -hydroxybenzoate protocatechuate, which is dissimilated through the -ketoadipate pathway.
