Spores of M. africana are dimorphic and this is probably also the case in M. microspora. A membrane which separates from the spore, particularly on germination, is interpreted as evidence that the spore of M. africana is a sporangiole and it is suggested that the genus Mycotypha should probably be classified in Thamnidiaceae. %U https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/micro/10.1099/00221287-55-2-243
