Abstract

SUMMARY

Washed myxamoebae of exhibit a transitory accumulation of 2′,3′-mononucleotides in the soluble pool. The accumulation is correlated with the time of transition from the vegetative stage to the initiation of morphogenesis. Materials which stimulate the rate of morphogenesis and prevent the efflux of RNA and protein from washed amoebae, also enhance the accumulation of mononucleotides many fold.
