The effect of the different inhibitors upon the growth rate of the organisms was found to vary from below 5 to 100% inhibition at a concentration sufficient to double lysis-time. Results of one-step growth curves showed a progressive decrease in burst size with increasing concentrations of inhibitor, and gave no evidence for any variation in sensitivity to inhibitor during the latent period. Using higher concentrations of inhibitor a zone was found where accelerated lysis occurred with loss of phage.", }
