The salt tolerance of each strain was assessed by determining the lowest water activity at which growth occurred in sodium chloride medium. Among the strains examined the potassium contents varied about fivefold and were positively correlated with salt tolerance. %U https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/micro/10.1099/00221287-25-1-97
