The bacterium is a strictly anaerobic Gram-positive, non-sporing, branching rod that closely resembles Lactobacillus bifidus. It is of interest from the point of view of the metabolism of dextran in the rumen. %U https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/micro/10.1099/00221287-20-3-549
