SUMMARY: Forty-five strains of Vibrio fetus were examined for streptomycin sensitivity; in most cases, growth was inhibited by concentrations ranging from 0·5–20 μg./ml. Streptomycin resistance was found in 6 strains. By the replica plating technique it was shown, in the case of 1 strain, that resistance was due to spontaneous mutation which occurred in the absence of streptomycin.
