Abstract

Summary: Increased production of perithecia by in the neighbourhood of a physical barrier which impedes the growth of the colony is associated with a locally increased concentration in the medium of organic phosphates excreted by the organism, caused by unequal diffusion of these compounds owing to the presence of the barrier.
