Abstract

SUMMARY: Ultraviolet irradiation and the radiomimetic antibiotic substance L-azaserine have similar effects in promoting the formation of radially enlarged cells and elongated filaments, and in the accumulation of metaphosphate in metachromatic granules, with a strain of . Dosages effective for the formation of enlarged cells and filaments are lower than for stimulation of metaphosphate accumulation.
