Several lines of evidence suggest that spoV A expression occurs only in the spore compartment. The implications of this observation for models of the overall regulation of gene expression during sporulation are discussed. %U https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/micro/10.1099/00221287-132-11-2977
