Abstract

Summary: Use of a pyruvate-based medium in which the supply of combined N limited growth enabled detection of diazotrophy (as CH reduction) in batch cultures of 12 out of 15 strains of representing 5 species and including 2 strains hitherto believed to be non-diazotrophic.
