RT Journal Article SR Electronic(1) A1 Vishniac, Helen S.YR 1955 T1 The Nutritional Requirements of Isolates of Labyrinthula spp. JF Microbiology, VO 12 IS 3 SP 455 OP 463 DO https://doi.org/10.1099/00221287-12-3-455 PB Microbiology Society, SN 1465-2080, AB SUMMARY: The labyrinthula isolates of Watson will grow over a wide range of pH values in a medium of which the inorganic constituents reflect their marine origin. All are obligately marine, though the less exacting requirements of L. macro-cystis var. atlantica suggest an estuarine habitat. Although only L. minttta var. atlantica requires an amino acid (l-leucine) as a growth factor, no isolate grew well on substrates other than amino acids. All require thiamine. Organic requirements may be obtained from host plants., UL https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/micro/10.1099/00221287-12-3-455
