Abstract

Cell wall-deficient forms of were produced in growth medium containing -cycloserine and horse serum. These cells were transformed into protoplasts with EDTA and lysozyme. Subsequent lysis by nucleases followed by osmotic shock produced membrane vesicles (whole cell ghosts).
