Two of these mutants lacked the enzyme triokinase, one contained lowered activities of fructose 1,6-bisphosphatase and two had unknown lesions. Revertants isolated with wild-type phenotype had regained the missing enzyme activities. The relationship of the mutant phenotypes to the proposed dihydroxy-acetone pathway for methanol assimilation is discussed. %U https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/micro/10.1099/00221287-113-2-203
