Abstract

The first isolation of from a patient with chronic suppurative mastoiditis is reported. Molecular characterization of the isolate was performed by sequencing the small-subunit rRNA gene, the outer-membrane protein A gene () and the RisA response regulator gene (). This is the first reported case of causing suppurative mastoiditis and only the second documented case of a clinically significant isolate.
