A public health investigation identified intermittent contamination at a meat-production process and ox-tongue production was discontinued. Sensitive molecular subtyping methods are improving our ability to track sources of Listeria monocytogenes contamination through the food chain. Detailed investigation of sporadic cases of listeriosis can provide important public health information and its wider use is encouraged. %U https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/jmm/10.1099/jmm.0.064055-0
