Infected ewes developed precipitins and complement-fixing antibodies to A. fumigatus mycelial antigens following the inoculation of spores. A gradual increase in complexity of the precipitation patterns given by immunodiffusion tests extended over several months and overlapped the times of abortion, but precipitins to individual A. fumigatus antigens could not be specifically associated with placentitis or abortion. Following abortion, the precipitation patterns decreased in complexity, although in most cases some activity persisted. Complement-fixing antibodies also developed before abortion and erratically declined in the post-abortion period.", }
