Inhibition of Different Serotypes of By Enterocins in Solid and Liquid Media Free

Abstract

SUMMARY

Twenty-one enterocinogenic strains of enterococci were examined for their ability to inhibit 51 strains of belonging to eight different serotypes; 50 strains of were uniformly inhibited on solid media and in broth cultures by strains of However, only four strains of were inhibited by strains of v. or v. Enterocin E1A prepared from the supernatant fluid of strain El rapidly killed sensitive cells of but did not lyse them.
