Abstract

Full-length cDNA clones of the swine vesicular disease virus (SVDV) were constructed from subgenomic cDNA clones in the expression vector pSVL (pSVLSOO). The direct transfection of mammalian cells with plasmid pSVLSOO results in the production of infectious virus. The recovered virus was neutralized completely by anti-SVDV guinea-pig serum, but did show a difference in plaque morphology from the parental virus.
