Abstract

SUMMARY

Evidence ispresented for the presence of a covalently linked protein that isattached to the 5'-ends of genomic RNA of pea enation mosaicvirus ( ). Nuclease digestion of released protein with anapparent mol. wt. of approx. 17 500. The absence of a 5'-capand the inability to introduce [P]phosphate into the5'-termini of these s suggests that the protein iscovalently bound to .
