Previous work has shown that hyperimmune convalescent antibody prepared in mice and adsorbed with purified influenza virus which had been disrupted with ether still gave precipitin lines in immunodiffusion tests with extracts of cells infected with influenza virus. These presumed non-structural antigens, labelled with radioactive amino acids, were precipitated with the virus-adsorbed antibody preparation. A comparison of the precipitate and purified virus by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis revealed three polypeptides which differed from the polypeptides of the virion.
