Summary

Several types of mutants variously affected by the concentration of calcium ions in the medium may be isolated from phage P2 (host: ). As compared with the wild type, the mutants may be more or less dependent on calcium for adsorption, more rapidly inactivated in the presence of calcium, or less prone to establish lysogeny at low calcium concentrations.
