The filamentous inclusions associated with the development of vesicular stomatitis virus were investigated by the combined use of ferritin-conjugated antibody and high-resolution radioautography. The specific attachment of ferritin-antibody complexes to the filaments as well as their consistent labelling with [3H]-uridine indicated that the inclusions were the sites of accumulation of virus specific ribonucleoprotein.
