Abstract

Analysis of the G+C content, DNA–DNA relatedness to other leptospires and 16S rRNA gene sequence of showed that this species was not related to other species. On the basis of these data, it is proposed that should be transferred to the genus as gen. nov., comb. nov., with strain H (=NCTC 11395=ATCC BAA-1111) as the type strain.
