Abstract

Two novel yeast species, sp. nov. and sp. nov., were isolated, respectively, from larvae of (Diptera: Tephritidae) collected from ripe fruit of (‘Bacupari’, Hippocrateaceae) and from flowers of (Campanulaceae) in the Cerrado ecosystem of the state of Tocantins, Brazil. Analysis of the D1/D2 large-subunit rRNA gene sequences placed in the clade near and . belongs to the clade and is related to . The type strain of is UFMG-05-T200.1 (=CBS 10936=NRRL Y-48478) and the type strain of is UFMG-03-T210 (=CBS 10935=NRRL Y-48477).
