sp. nov., isolated from wetland freshwater, and emended descriptions of and Free

Abstract

A Gram-staining-negative, aerobic and rod-shaped bacterium, designated HME8881, was isolated from a freshwater wetland located in the Republic of Korea. A phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain HME8881 grouped with members of the genus . The most closely related species were HU1-HG42 (95.6  %), HU1-GD23 (95.1  %), ‘’ DS48-5-3 (94.7  %) and HME8442 (93.4  %). The major fatty acids were iso-C, summed feature 3 (comprising Cω7 and/or Cω6), iso-CG, C and iso-C 3-OH. A polar lipid analysis revealed phosphatidylethanolamine, two unidentified aminolipids, three unidentified aminophospholipids, two unidentified phospholipids and two unidentified lipids. DNA G+C content was 37.7 mol%. These results suggest that strain HME8881 represents a novel species of the genus , for which the name sp. nov., is proposed with the type strain HME8881 ( = KCTC 42121 = CECT 8366). In addition, emended descriptions of and are also proposed on the basis of new data obtained during this study.
