On the basis of our results, we propose a new description of this species. The following tests are most suitable for the differentiation of E. amylo-vora from other species of the genus Erwinia: pectinase, lactose, and the reduction of nitrates. We recommend that the strain BS 1114 (NCPPB 683) be considered a neotype., UL https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/ijsem/10.1099/0096266X-14-1-5
