The family Coriobacteriaceae: reclassification of ( Poco etal. 1996 ) and ( Lanigan 1976 ) gen. nov., comb. nov. and gen. nov., comb. nov., and (Prevot 1938) gen. nov., comb. nov. Free

Abstract

16S rRNA gene sequences were determined for and . These species were found to be closely related and, together with , to constitute a branch of the . Two new genera are proposed on the basis of phenotypic characteristics and 16S rRNA gene sequence comparisons: to include the bile-sensitive species and , and to include the bile-resistant . It is proposed that and are transferred to the genus gen. nov. as gen. nov., comb. nov. (type strain ATCC 700122) and gen. nov., comb. nov. (type strain NTCC 11029). respectively, and is transferred to the genus gen. nov. as gen. nov., comb. nov. with as the type species.
