Proposal of six new species in the genus and transfer of ZoBell and Upham to the genus as comb. nov. Free

Abstract

Reference strains, including two mis-named organisms, ‘’ and . isolates from soil and clinical specimens, all previously recognized as or , were characterized taxonomically. On the basis of morphological, physiological and chemotaxonomic characteristics, as well as DNA-DNA hybridization data, six new species and one new combination are proposed in the genus sp. nov. (type strain IFO 14548), sp. nov. (type strain IFO 3758), sp. nov. (type strain IFO 15234), sp. nov. (type strain IFO 15708), sp. nov. (type strain IFO 16060), sp. nov. (type strain IFO 16062) and comb. nov. (type strain IFO 15779).
