Abstract

A new species, , is described. The isolates were obtained from tropical ulcers and also from mud taken from areas where patients with tropical ulcers lived. The strains differed from other species by their morphology, biochemical profile, and soluble cellular proteins as determined by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The type strain of the species is NCTC 12111, and NCTC 12112 is a reference strain.
