Abstract

Nucleic acid and biochemical studies were performed on some lactobacilli from the human oral cavity which phenotypically resemble . The oral strains were distinct from and other heterofermentative species and warrant a new species, for which the name sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain of is NCDO 2160.
