Abstract

The placement of (Tissier) in the genus is controversial. Recent biochemical and chemical data clearly demonstrate that is sufficiently unrelated to the type species of (Castellani and Chalmers), that it should not be retained within this genus. It is therefore formally proposed that be removed from the genus and reclassified in a new genus, , as comb. nov. The type strain of is ATCC 25539 (NCTC 11158).
