Abstract

Hybridization experiments were carried out between H-labeled ribosomal ribonucleic acid from NCTC 452 (T = type strain), C-labeled ribosomal ribonucleic acid from NCIB 8156, or C-labeled ribosomal ribonucleic acid from subsp. ATCC 15173 and deoxyribonucleic acids from various strains of and other taxa. A numerical analysis of phenotypic features was also done. The genera and are very closely related, which warrants the proposal of a new family, the .
