, a New Species Isolated from a Tortoise Free

Abstract

A mycoplasma isolated from the cloaca of a tortoise was shown to be serologically distinct from 82 recognized and species. Three clones obtained from the isolated mycoplasma were examined in detail and proved indistinguishable from each other. One of these strains, 01008 (NCTC 11701), is designated the type strain of a new species, .
