Abstract

The flagellation and motility of seven cellulomonads ( ATCC 486, [T = type strain], ATCC 484, ATCC 482, ATCC 488, ATCC 489, ATCC 487, and ATCC 491) were examined by light microscopy and electron microscopy. Cells of all seven strains possessed polar multitrichous flagella, and a few cells possessed polar monotrichous flagella.
