Abstract

A new species of is described, for which we propose the name This organism produces new antibiotics called pyrrolomycins and is characterized by pseudosporangia lacking sporangial walls, nonmotile spores, and a type I cell wall. It differs significantly from previously described species of the genus in the cultural conditions necessary for pseudosporangium formation. The type strain of is SF-2080 (= ATCC 31673).
