, a New Species from the Conjunctivas of Chinese Hamsters Free

Abstract

Mycoplasmas were isolated from the conjunctivas and nasopharynges of Chinese hamsters. Four clones obtained from three separate colonies were examined in detail. These clones were indistinguishable from each other and were serologically distinct from 67 recognized spp. Strain CH (NCTC 10190) is designated the type strain of a new species, . . This is the only species recorded from Chinese hamsters.
