Abstract

The family name was omitted from the body of the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names, but a footnote indicating that the name was sub judice was entered on page 236 of the Lists. This has led to some confusion over the status of the name. The Judicial Commission has reviewed this question and concluded that the family name Rahn 1937 (type genus Castellani and Chalmers 1919) is presently valid and should have been incorporated in the body of the Approved Lists.
