All of them had properties characteristic of the genus Alteromonas. Two strains were closely related to Pseudomonas piscicida. The others could be considered as members of a new species for which the name Alteromonas aurantia is proposed. The type strain of A. aurantia is strain 208 (= ATCC 33046 = NCMB 2052)., UL https://www.microbiologyresearch.org/content/journal/ijsem/10.1099/00207713-29-4-366
